The United Counties of Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) is currently working with McSweeney &
Associates (Ottawa) to create a new Economic Development Strategic/Action Plan to support and
stimulate economic development within the region in all sectors – including manufacturing.
It is anticipated that the project will deliver a clear 5-year strategic direction and related action items
in order to realize a common regional economic vision. Consultations with local municipal leaders and
key stakeholders will get underway shortly. Separate industry sector focus groups will be held following
the municipal meetings and will include sector stakeholders from across the Counties – including
Manufacturing/Technology, Food & Beverage Processing, Distribution/Warehousing, Agribusiness/
Agriculture and Creative Economy/Tourism Investment. The final report is expected to be completed by
May 1, 2012.
