Port Hope Celebrates Opening of Pemberton Drive

The Municipality of Port Hope celebrated the Official Opening of Pemberton Drive on Friday March 30th with Mayor Linda Thompson, MP Rick Norlock, MPP Rob Milligan, Walter Van Veen of the PHAI, Council Members and the Pemberton Family in attendance.

Pemberton Drive is the new gateway road that will eventually connect the Municipality of Port Hope Business Park Lands to Baulch Road to facilitate development in that area.  Deputy Mayor Jeff Gilmer, Chair of Economic Development and Tourism stated, "construction of Pemberton Drive provides direct access to designated employment lands which lead to new development opportunities.   We look forward to the creation of jobs that future development will bring to our Municipality."

To maximize efficiencies and cost savings, Pemberton Drive was constructed to coincide wit the Port Hope Area Initiative's haul road.  Current businesses in the area will benefit from the new road, bringing a resolution to turning radius issues.
