Begun as an electronics firm to be close to Nortel in Belleville, Montreal, and Ottawa, Quest-Tech has grown to be one of the premier metal fabricators in the Quinte area. The facility occupies approximately 80,000 square foot located on 5.75 acres of serviced industrial land in Belleville’s N.E. Industrial Park.

Products/Markets:
Quest-Tech provides a complete range of fabrication and finishing services including shearing, punching, bending, welding, powder coating & wet painting, plating, silkscreening, assembly and custom packaging. They can create petrochemical towers out of 2 million pounds of sheet steel or coat hooks for a local school. How-ever, their strengths lie mainly in custom sheet metal components and structural fabrication assemblies using various grades of carbon steels, stainless steels, and aluminums.

First article approval is completed using the Fabrivision Optical Scanning system. This system automatically compares first article inspection results to the original CAD drawings, using predefined tolerance settings to show the deviation (color coded) of a scan compared to a validated CAD file. Any deviations from the original drawings are quickly relayed to production and the equipment setup adjusted accordingly. Their ISO 9001:2008 Quality System defined inspection procedures can be tailored to meet specific custom standards or requests. Quest-Tech is also holds Kiln Dried Heat Treated (KDHT) wood packaging certification from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. They run an in-house crating operation to ensure the myriad of component they produce are properly protected for shipping.

More than three-quarters of their employees have been with them for 15 years or more, and they have an extensive training program to transfer that invaluable knowledge to recent college and certificate graduates both inside and outside the company.
Most of their products are ordered by companies in the U.S., but they routinely ship to the Gulf States, Russia, China, all over the world. Markets include the Petrochemical, Air Separation, Telecommunications and Transportation sectors. Related to their industrial customers, Quest-Tech would like to work more with the Quinte community to provide park benches, arch signage, waste bins, stainless steel counter tops, hooks, metal work, whatever the organizations in the community need.
