R&D Dairies have pride in top customer service and reliable delivery
North Augusta - Robert and Darlene Jones are the names behind R&D Dairies, an established dairy product distribution company based in Augusta Township.
The local company delivers to more than 120 customers, including restaurants, hotels, motels, schools and convenience stores and distributes a host of products from tiny creamers to large containers of ice cream.
"We pride ourselves on our delivery services," says Robert, adding they operate 6 days a week and cover communities along the Highway 401 corridor from Gananoque to Cornwall, as well as locations north to Smiths Falls and Rideau Ferry. Many are long-term customers who appreciate reliable, friendly service.
"We like to be known for our old-fashioned customer service," says Darlene.
R&D Dairies employs four drivers and has three trucks on the road at all times. The company is a distributor for Agropur - Sealtest products, Biemond organic products, Tracey's Ice Cream from Renfrew, fine cheeses and fresh eggs.
"We source as much locally as we can," says Robert. "And we stand behind our products - good quality, local Canadian products," adds Darlene.
The couple owned Cowan's Dairy in Brockville for 7 years but decided to expand into something new in 2000 when they purchased their current business. Darlene grew up on a dairy farm so a dairy distribution business seemed a perfect fit. They soon moved the business from Brockville to the North Augusta area where they had purchased a home and property.
"We wanted to expand our horizons and haven't looked back," says Darlene. All invoices are emailed. Drivers have apps on their phones to access the accounting system.
Robert and Darlene are in the process of launching an online ordering service, new website and Facebook page in the near future. Learn more or to place an order, call R&D Dairies at 613-926-1147.
