$300 million public-private partnership delivering better reliable wireless connectivity for residents and businesses

The City of Pembroke and the Town of Petawawa are among 10 new Eastern Ontario communities to join Rogers 5G service network.

Rogers Communications announced Monday, Feb. 7 that the city and town are among the new communities to benefit from the company’s $330-million partnership with the federal and provincial governments and the Eastern Ontario Regional Network (EORN).

“The County of Renfrew is very pleased to see Rogers Communications already starting to make cell coverage improvements in this part of eastern Ontario,” County of Renfrew Warden Debbie Robinson stated. “Strong, reliable connectivity is essential for the future growth and health of all our communities.”

As the chairwoman of the Eastern Ontario Wardens Caucus, Robinson added that the partnership between Rogers, the Eastern Ontario Regional Network (EORN), the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario, will allow residents to take full advantage of everything 5G has to offer. The health-care system, our emergencies services and our educational system will all benefit from these improvements, she said.
